Corporate Social Responsibility

Worldwide trends like climate change, scarcity of natural resources and attention for labour circumstances in supply chains, have more and more influence on our daily activities and business. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) for Accell Group means that the company is open to social developments and incorporate them into their products and activities. Accell Group produces a sustainable product that contributes to a healthy life and a reduction of CO2 emissions. An important part of the companies’ mission is to make their production as friendly as possible for people and planet. Here you find the listed priorities in the CSR policies.

Sustainable product
Accell Group contributes to sustainable mobility by offering a sustainable means of transportation, the bicycle. Accell Group continuously works on innovation in sustainable mobility and healthy exercise. For example the development of concepts like the electrical bike to prolong mobility and supports initiatives to make young people sport and be less vulnerable to obesity.

Our employees
Accell Group wants to be a good employer and offers her employees a safe, healthy and challenging working environment. Accell Group offers an open and professional culture, and good opportunities for education and training. The company pays special attention to participation of people with a larger distance to the labour market, and cooperate for example with several sheltered employment institutions.

Sustainable production
Accell Group strives for continuous improvement of sustainability in their production processes. Central priorities are:
• CO2 and energy; Accell Group strives for reduction of energy and CO2 emissions in as well in production as in transportation activities.
• Sustainable materials and recycling; Accell Group wants to increase the amount of sustainable materials in products and packaging and stimulates suppliers to deliver their supplies with a minimum of packaging materials.
• Chemical substances; Accell Group strives to work exclusively with registered substances under the right circumstances using the right personal protective equipment. Where possible alternative substances without hazardous components are used.
• Water; Accell Group strives to limit our use of water and purify the wastewater.

Supply chain responsibility
As one of the world’s leading companies in the bicycle industry and an active member of the main board in the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), the Accell Group takes the initiative to fill in the supply chain responsibility in the international bicycle industry. Apart from this Accell Group has its own Supplier Code of Conduct, in which suppliers commit themselves to comply with internationally accepted standards on labour and human rights.
